Commercial Projects
Over the years, Linwood has been involved in a variety of commercial projects for golf clubhouses; stores; churches; a car showroom and other varied buildings. As with their homes, using the Linwood system, means that the buildings are relatively quick to complete; have low running costs, and are particularly attractive with it being easy to either make them stand out, or to blend into the landscape, dependant on the end use for what they are intended. Of course, another major factor, is their very good environmental characteristics. |

Being constructed of timber, it is the worlds greatest truly natural renewable resource. Extracted from fully managed forests, the timber, whether Cedar; Douglas Fir or the SPF softwoods, they can be used and blended together, to create buildings that are dramatic and stunning both internally and externally, but can be small compact units, or large open clearspan concourses.

One of the main features of our packages, are the use of Glulam beams, which due to their careful engineered manufacture, are the timber equivalent of steel beams, except these are attractive to see. What's more, they can perform better in fires, and with the new advanced coatings available, can show their attractive woodgrains while having a high fire rating. Very large spans and large cathedral roofed spaces, can be achieved with this modern timber engineering.
And protecting all the internals of course, is our favourite material . . . Western Red Cedar. Cost effective to use; resilient and low maintenance, but high in appearance and visual impact, it provides a natural alternative to man made products.

As part of the service we can provide, we can create the design to meet your specific requirements, using initially our CAD drawing system. This can quickly produce plans and visuals of both the internal and external of the building, and is easy to amend and change items such as colours; roofing etc, to see how it would fit in to your specific location. Some of these illustrations are included below. When you are satisfied with the concept, we can then export these to Linwood, to prepare high quality project drawings; for Building Control; Engineering and Construction purposes.
