J & S Campbell – Struan Lodge, Beauly

1. Can you describe how you feel about your home and are you enjoying living in it :-
“We are very pleased with the response from the guests who have stayed in the Lodge. They have all loved the quality and design especially the vaulted ceilings and picture windows. You can tell by the testimonials left by them that they have all enjoyed their stay. It’s a pity we didn’t have more ground or we would be building another one!”

2. How would you describe the quality of the plans ; information and actual materials :-
“Our joiner felt the plans could have been a bit more detailed but other than that we were happy. Our only disappointment is the bedroom size and would definitely recommend that the overall building was stretched a little to make the bedrooms longer. The quality of the materials cannot be faulted nor the quantity, we had more than enough.”

3. How would you describe the advice, information and service provided by Log & Cedar :-
“Donald was more than attentive and helped us enormously as we had never done anything like this before, without his help we could not have done it or at best would have taken us much longer.”

5. How would you describe the overall buying experience :-
“Very straight forward, not pushed into making decisions until you felt happy with everything. Would definitely recommend Log & Cedar for their quality product and customer care.”

All our questions/worries were met with patience, support and advice borne out of obvious experience. Any problems which arose (of which we are sure there were many) were dealt with without causing us any needless worry, and we can honestly say that the whole experience from beginning to end was a happy one and we could not be happier with our new house.”

Julie & Albert Taylor – Perthshire

Julie and Albert Taylor sold their successful vintners business, and decided to build a new home on the outskirts of a Perthshire village, on a beautiful site they had found. The site had an existing traditional cottage, which was only fit for demolition. Both wanted to replace it with something stylish and memorable, but in keeping with it’s rural location. When they saw the Linwood details, they instantly knew this was just what they wanted.

“We absolutely loved the open plan space and the light” says Julie, “and having the cedar external finish, it looks absolutely beautiful, and we knew it was just right for our site. We used the Majestic as our starting point, and customised it to suit our needs, including a full basement, which is unusual here in Scotland, and an internal annexe for my mother to live”.

“Albert project managed the whole build with help and advice from our local dealer, Log & Cedar Homes, and it all went really well. The various trade contractors all commented on the quality and dimensions of the materials, including those out of sight within the structure”

“I still stand in the house, and marvel that we can have this wonderful home. We’re just so proud of the whole thing” said Julie.

S & R Tranter – North Wales

1. Can you describe how you feel about your home and are you enjoying living in it :-
“We love it! It has become part of us and I do not think we could ever move . . . unless it was to another Linwood home”

“We have not been disappointed in any element of the build: assistance, information and materials.”

3. How would you describe the advise and service provided by Log & Cedar Homes :-

He continually made himself available either in person, phone or email to help with any issues or difficulties we had. He became a trusted advisor and ‘idea bouncer’ on many aspects of our self build.”

4. How would you describe the information and service provided by Linwood Homes :-
“Despite our house being made on the other side of the world this was not and has not (we have lived here nearly 5 years) been a problem on any level.”

5. How would you describe the overall buying experience: –
“Self builds are stressful but by choosing Log and Cedar Homes and Linwood the process was smoother and less problematic and we have ended up with our dream house.”

David Fielding, Anglesey

The progress has been superb and has vindicated me in sticking with timber frame rather than site build. To build outdoors at this time of year would have been so much harder and slower. Progress is superb.

The windows and doors look stunning and I can’t wait to see an elevation clad or partially clad and the scaffolding gone.

The pace is such that everybody else is being caught out by the speed (inc me!)

Many thanks and I am so delighted I have chosen you, I was only saying to Geraint today that you seem bothered to get it right for the client and I have thus enjoyed your input. Geraint also seems, as you suggested, a great find – I have taken his advise over the roofer and now he is talking to Hervey’s kitchen supplier re ideas.

Thanks

Dave
